There’s a fertility grassroots underground community: Once you put it out there within your social circle, they’ll find you… Once this group of people takes you into their arms, you’re like, “Oh, OK! There’s so many of you!”

Anderson Cooper
Cooper welcomed his son, Wyatt, named after Anderson’s father, via a surrogate on April 27th 2020. Anderson wrote the following on his Instagram page: “It is an extraordinary blessing; what she, and all surrogates give to families who can’t have children,” he said. “My surrogate has a beautiful family of her own, a wonderfully supportive husband, and kids, and I am incredibly thankful for all the support they have given Wyatt and me. My family is blessed to have this family in our lives.”

Sarah Jessica Parker and Matthew Broderick
In an interview with Access Hollywood, she shared, “We’ve been trying to expand our family for a number of years, and we actually have explored a variety of ways of doing so. This was one of the things we discussed with seriousness that had real possibilities for us.” With the help of a gestational carrier, the couple expanded their family by having twins in 2009.

Tyra Banks
The model has spoken openly about her journey to expand her family. After approximately seven failed IVF cycles, she decided to pursue surrogacy. Ms. Bank’s son, York, was born in 2016, and although she said it was not an easy process, she expressed that he was “a beautiful bright light at the end of the tunnel.”

Kandi Burruss
The Real Housewives of Atlanta stars enlisted a gestational carrier in 2019. Although it was initially a “tough decision” for the couple, they now say that they “wouldn’t change a thing“. Kim Kardashian and Kanye West
Kim has been diagnosed with Placenta Accreta, a severe medical condition where the placenta attaches too deep in the uterine wall. This can make it difficult to detach it after birth. It can be life-threatening as it can cause severe vaginal bleeding (hemorrhage) after delivery. This is why while Kardashian was able to carry her first two children, she enlisted a surrogate for babies number three and four in 2018 and 2019.

Andy Cohen
He announced in December 2018 that he was expecting a child through the help of a surrogate. His son, Benjamin, was born in February 2019. In addition to Mr. Cohen being open about his journey, he also was an active advocate in legalizing surrogacy in New York earlier this year.
